Man caves should be soundproofed…..what good is a man cave if you can’t make as much noise as you want without someone complaining about it!
Quietco were called out to design and build a Soundproof studio on a detached property with all the latest gadgets and technology for a client who loved his electronic trance music. The room in question was a double garage, 5.5m x 4.5m with a large up and over garage door and access to the main house at the rear.
For practical use and to keep all family members happy, we designed the soundproof studio to keep some storage for general garage items….but the rest of the room was to be the soundproof studio or man cave. A place where you can turn the sub-woofer up so much that video game explosions move the sofa your sat on.
The garage door was blocked up from the inside, keeping the garage door in place so there was no change to the appearance of the garage from the outside. Next all the electrical, data and speaker cables and ventilation was installed. The structure was investigated for air gaps and voids and tested with our equipment to get decibel reading a before the soundproofing installation.
Quietco installed our trade mark floating frame wall and ceiling system comprising of the latest materials from the best manufactures in the acoustic industry. We installed our TPS80W wall system to the house wall where the garage met the house. We installed our economic floating floor system ‘TPSE’ to keep as much head height as possible. The floating floor reduced the lower frequency bass noise being felt out side the soundproof studio.
The client opted for our unique upgraded double door system which we have developed and successfully tested over many years, it’s has heavy duty handles and seals with a slick acoustic foam finish.
Using the amazon echo dot the customer is able to voice command, lighting, TV, Disco lights, air-conditioning, underfloor heating, as well as all the usual audio and lighting controls.
